Prescott Railway Station was an inter-city passenger rail station in Prescott, Ontario, Canada. It is positioned along the Via Rail Corridor route. However, service to the station was stopped in 2001. [1]
The station is located at the intersection of St. Lawrence St & Railway Ave
History

The station, was constructed of grey ashlar limestone [2] in 1855 as part of the Grand Trunk Railway ( Now CN) Montreal – Toronto line, specifically the first phase of construction between Montreal and Brockville. [3] Designed by English architect Francis Thompson, the first generation "Type A" stations display an Italianate architectural style. Displayed by the building's snug profile, low-pitched roof, and overhanging eaves supported by elaborate wooden brackets. [4] Out of the nine surviving Grand Trunk stations. Prescott is the only one to retain its four chimneys, each located on the corners of the building. The Prescott station is one of the largest surviving GTR stations with seven bays leading to a first-class designation by the railway.
